The Cayin CS-88A is the successor to the already popular A-88TMK2. The CS-88A has been improved in many areas and now has, among other things, an MM Phono input to play your favorite Vinyl without problems and at a high level. The transformers have also been improved and so the output transformers deliver an even wider range of sound and there is more detail. If you want to play digitally, the Cayin CS-100CD is a perfect partner.
With the CS-88A, the output step can also be immediately switched between Triode and Ultralinear mode to adjust the sound. The difference between these two modes is the number of electrodes used by the tube. Triode displays the sound as close as possible to a Class A amplification.
Triode: only 3 electrodes are used, for transparent and nuanced sound, ideal for jazz, classical and more
Ultralinear: the tube operates at higher power, for a more powerful sound that excites with pop, rock and more
The CS-88A is designed with pure simplicity in terms of inputs. It contains a beautifully designed and implemented MM-phono input, along with 2 line inputs for analog sources and 1 preamplifier input that allows the CS-88A to be used as a power amplifier.
